WHY DO ATMS NEED SECURITY FOG?
Alarm response times average 8–15 minutes in the UK. A gas attack on an ATM takes 90 seconds. Cameras record the crime; they do not stop it. Security fog is the only intervention that physically prevents the theft in the seconds that matter — filling the cash area before the attackers reach the cassettes. Across Europe, fog protection is now standard in high-risk ATM estates, and banks that deploy it report attack attempts abandoned within seconds of activation.
HOW DOES ATM FOG PROTECTION WORK?
A Smoke Screen Sentinel unit is installed inside the ATM housing, gatehouse or cash room, connected to the site’s intrusion detection — seismic sensors, gas detectors, or the existing alarm panel.
On a verified attack:
(1) the sensor triggers,
(2) the Sentinel unit activates in under 10 seconds,
(3) the area fills with dense, dry, harmless fog within 20–60 seconds,
(4) visibility drops to under 30cm. The fog is glycol-based, leaves no residue on cash or electronics, and clears within an hour of ventilation. The cassettes stay where they are.

For ATM housings and small cash rooms, the Sentinel SC20 or S35 delivers rapid coverage in confined spaces. For larger cash processing areas, bank branches and CIT depots, the S55 and S70 protect open-plan spaces up to several hundred cubic metres.
